What Rankfinity is#
Rankfinity is one workspace for three questions every business with a website asks:
- Where do I rank on Google? Organic positions for your keywords on desktop and mobile, tracked over time (Rank tracking).
- Where do I show up on the map? Your position in the Google Maps local pack, measured from many points across your area (Map grid scans).
- Do AI assistants recommend me? How often ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude, Perplexity and Google's AI answers name your business, and who they name instead (AI visibility).
Around those three sit the tools you need to act on the results: a site audit, keyword research, competitor analysis, backlinks, on-page generators, a content writer, Search Console and Google Analytics reports, client reports and alerts.
Rankfinity is sold in credits. Actions that fetch new data from search engines or AI platforms cost credits; reading data you already have is free. Every paid button shows its price before you click. Read How credits work once — it explains why you are never charged for a failed job.
Signing in#
You can create an account in two ways:
- Email and password. Go to the sign-up page, enter your name, email, an optional phone number and company, and a password. Tick the box to accept the Terms and the Privacy Policy (required). The box "Email me product news and tips" is separate and optional.
- Continue with Google. Click the Google button on the sign-up page. The same two boxes apply.
If sign-ups are invitation-only on your installation, you will see Request access instead. Fill in the form and you will receive an email when your account is ready.
After sign-up, confirm your email address with the link we send you. Until you confirm, you can look around but you cannot start paid actions.
Onboarding: your first project#
The first time you sign in, the Get started screen walks you through creating a project. A project is one website (and optionally one business on Google Maps) that you want to track.
- Your website. Type your domain, for example
bright-dental.example. The project name is filled from it; change it if you like. - Business type and language. Pick the closest business type (Local business, Online store, SaaS / software, Content / media, Agency, Other) and the language your customers search in. These shape the keyword ideas and the AI questions we suggest.
- Where your customers search. Choose the target location — a country or a city. Rankings are checked as if searched from there.
- Google Business Profile. If the business appears on Google Maps, tick This business has a Google Business Profile and find it by name or paste a Maps link. This unlocks the map features.
- Keywords. Rankfinity reads your homepage and a few linked pages and proposes 10–20 keywords, all ticked. Untick what does not fit and add your own in the field below. Reading your site is free. If your site cannot be read, you get a short message and can type keywords by hand.
- Fill the dashboard now. This option is ticked by default. It runs a one-off project setup: a domain overview, a backlinks summary, referring domains and a site crawl, so the dashboard has numbers on day one. On most plans the setup for your included projects is free; the label tells you whether it is included or what it costs.
- Click Create project.
Need every setting at once? Click Advanced options to open the full project form inside onboarding (grid size, automation, devices, white-label client name and more). You can also click Skip for now and create a project later from + New project in the left menu.
What happens next#
After you click Create project:
- If you ticked a Business Profile, Rankfinity opens the project settings so you can confirm the business match and the map grid. Nothing scans the map automatically. You start a map scan yourself with Scan now, or you set a schedule in Map › Re-check.
- If you ticked Fill the dashboard now, a progress line appears on the dashboard ("Filling the dashboard · 2 of 4 · …") and the cards fill in as each step finishes.
- Your keywords are added to Rank tracking. The first ranking check runs when you click Run tracking in Rank tracking, or on the schedule you choose there.
A good first week#
- Day 1 — baseline. Run a rank check in Rank tracking. If you have a Business Profile, run one map scan in Map. Both give you the starting point every later change is compared to.
- Day 1 — connect Google. Connect Search Console and Google Analytics. This is free and gives you real clicks and visits next to your rankings. See Search Console and Google Analytics.
- Day 2 — site health. Open Site audit and read the Summary. Fix the items under "Fix these first". Use Copy fix prompt for your AI if someone else will do the fixes.
- Day 3 — AI visibility. Open AI Visibility › Settings, check your brand names and aliases, choose platforms, review the suggested prompts and click Run now.
- Day 4 — competitors. Open Competitors › Organic competitors to see who ranks for the same keywords, then track the real ones.
- Day 5 — schedules and alerts. Turn on the schedules you want (rank tracking, map re-check, site crawl) and choose which emails you get. See Alerts and emails.
The layout#
- Left menu. Grouped into SEO tools, Competition, Google My Business, On-page, GA4 & Search Console, Data (Saved, Reports), Projects (All projects) and Settings. Groups with a chevron fold and unfold; your choice is remembered.
- Project picker. At the top of the menu. Everything you see is for the selected project. The ⋮ next to it opens Email me for that project.
- Credits. Your balance is in the header. Click it to top up or see history.
- Your avatar. Opens My account — your personal settings: Profile, Security, Notifications, Connected apps, Billing, Affiliate, Activity, My log, My data. Settings in the menu is for the selected project: Project, Team, Alerts.
- AI Assistant. The full chat is in the menu; a floating button opens it from any screen.
On a phone the menu becomes a drawer behind the ☰ button and wide tables scroll inside their own box.
Common questions#
Do I need a Google Business Profile? No. Without one you get everything except the map features (Map, Rankings on the map, Map competitors, Business Profile data). You can add one later in project settings.
Why does a card say "Not measured"? Because we have not fetched that data yet, or it does not exist for your site. We never show a missing number as zero.
Can I change the location or language later? Yes, in Settings › Project. New checks use the new values; older results stay as they were measured.
Where do I get help? These help pages, the AI Assistant inside the app, or email office@rankfinity.app.
