Two levels of Business Profile support#
Rankfinity uses your Google Business Profile in two ways:
- Matching for map scans. Every project with a Business Profile can run map grid scans. This only needs the business to be matched to the project; no Google sign-in is needed.
- Data from Google. The Business Profile screen under Google My Business shows calls, direction requests, website clicks, searches and reviews straight from Google. This needs a Google connection with access to the listing, and the feature must be enabled on your installation. If you do not see Business Profile in the menu, it is not enabled yet.
Matching your business#
- Open Settings › Project.
- Tick This business has a Google Business Profile.
- Under Match, use Find the business: type the name and click Search, then pick the right listing. Or paste a link from Google Maps into Or paste a Maps link.
- Save.
Check the match carefully. Map scans look for this exact listing at every point; a wrong match makes every map number wrong. If your business has several locations, create one project per location.
If a project has no Business Profile, the menu shows "Google Business Profile — not enabled" with a link to settings, and Map competitors is grey.
The Business Profile screen#
Connecting#
The screen reads data with a Google connection that has access to the listing — the project owner's connection, or yours if the owner has none. If none of the connected Google accounts manages the listing, the screen tells you so in words and shows no numbers.
The listing is linked to the project automatically when possible. If not, pick it from the list and click This is ours. The choice is remembered.
Performance#
Daily charts for:
- Calls — clicks on the call button.
- Directions — requests for directions.
- Website clicks — clicks to your site from the listing.
Each has a mini chart. A day with no data from Google shows as a gap, not as zero.
Searches#
The search terms people used to find your listing over the last three months. Google shows terms with very few searches as "< 15" instead of an exact number.
Reviews#
Your reviews with rating, text and date. Under each review is a reply box:
- Write your reply.
- Click to post. A window asks Post this reply? because the reply is published publicly on Google under your business name.
- Confirm. The reply appears on Google, and a line is written to the activity log.
Clients and view-only team members can read reviews but cannot reply. Editing or deleting a reply that is already published is done in Google.
NAP check#
NAP means Name, Address and Phone. Consistent details across your listing and website help local rankings. The check compares the listing with:
- The project name and domain.
- The text and structured data on your site from the last site crawl.
Each field shows match, differs or not compared. Without a site crawl the address and phone say "not compared". If your phone number appears only in the footer, it may show "differs" because the check reads the main content.
For a complete set of consistent details to paste into your site and directories, use On-page tools › Local NAP kit (On-page tools).
Monitor#
The Monitor tab keeps a history of your profile and your competitors' profiles: rating and review count over time, and the events it finds: a rating drop, a new negative review, a competitor gaining reviews, or a change to the name, category, phone, website, address, hours or description. The competitor list on the tab also suggests profiles it finds.
Check now reads every profile in the list once. It costs 10 credits per profile read, and the price is shown before you press it. A profile that could not be read is not charged.
Privacy#
Data from Google is not stored in Rankfinity; it is read when you open the screen and cached in memory for about 15 minutes. Reviewer names are never saved.
Related tools#

- On-page tools › Business posts — drafts of Google posts within Google's length limits.
- Alerts and emails — alerts when your map position drops.
Common questions#
I don't see "Business Profile" in the menu. The feature is not enabled on your installation, or the project has no Business Profile. Map scans work either way.
It says Google hasn't approved access. Google requires approval before any app can read Business Profile data. Until it is granted the screen cannot show numbers; this is a limit on Google's side.
Can I reply to reviews from a phone? Yes. The screen works on phones; the confirmation window appears before posting.
Why does NAP say "not compared"? There is no site crawl yet, or the address or phone was not found on your site. Run a crawl in Site audit.
Does reading this data cost credits? No. It comes from Google and is free.
